Breast Center of New England feels “boutique”, but it’s not. We’re a group of highly-trained and experienced women who care about your experience. We want to treat you as the important human you are. If you’ve had breast cancer testing at other facilities, you’ll see the differences right away. We’ve streamlined the process of getting care – no more waiting on hold or for results. We’ll obtain prior mammograms from other facilities foryou, and send your results to your doctor wherever they work. Dr. Lizer reads all the exams right away as much as she can, and if you need additional testing, our staff work to get you in for it as soon as possible – often same-day.
Our Difference
Every area mammography center will advertise 3-D mammography (tomosynthesis) and their state-of-the art equipment. Yes, we have that, too — because 3-D mammography has been the standard in our area since 2015.
There’s nothing new about it! So what sets Breast Center of New England apart from the rest?
Women-owned, locally-owned — we are not part of an out-of-state healthcare corporation. This means decisions are made 100% locally, for the benefit of women in Northern New England, not based on what’s needed in Boston or further south.
Our patients are involved in their own medical decision making.
This is a physician practice, so patients always have the opportunity to consult with Dr. Lizer — a Harvard fellowship trained breast imaging radiologist with years of experience.

Freedom to choose your own medical path should you need surgery or other treatments. We are not attached to any hospital system, so patients aren’t funneled down the same referral paths. Dr. Lizer has relationships with area surgeons as well as physicians in Boston and Lebanon.
As much as possible, we’ve attempted to create an environment that doesn’t feel clinical. We follow best practices in facility cleaning, but have designed the look and feel of our center as a place that feels more like a spa than a hospital.

Breast Center of New England has streamlined the process of getting a mammogram — no more waiting on hold, or waiting weeks to receive care.
Book your screening mammogram or bone density test by calling our center, or schedule online with our easy-to-use calendar. If you need a diagnostic mammogram, call to schedule your appointment. We’ll take care of getting any orders for you.
If you’ve had mammograms or ultrasounds at other facilities, we’ll reach out to get those images — so you don’t have to. Breast Center of New England uses the country’s leading HIPAA-compliant, secure electronic sharing service to get prior mammograms and other studies as quickly as possible. We’ll do the heavy lifting!
Getting here is easy. We’re conveniently located at the Lee traffic circle across from Market Basket. There’s plenty of parking right out front, and checking in is fast and simple.
Most mammograms are read real-time, and you are welcome to wait for your results if Dr. Lizer is available.
We arrange for any additional testing that may be needed, and will coordinate everything with your doctor.
Reports will be sent to your doctor, regardless of which hospital they’re affiliated with.
