Ultrasound exams use sound waves to image masses and other breast abnormalities. A diagnostic ultrasound is a problem-solving test to look at one or more areas of breast tissue. A complete breast ultrasound is used for supplemental screening in women with dense breast tissue. Because ultrasound is user-dependent, it’s important your ultrasound exam is performed by an expert.
